Every Norwegian Flagstone floor is built as one complete composition in Norway. The finished floor is documented, numbered and packed before it leaves our production.

  1. Measure the space

    We receive your drawings, dimensions and information about the project.

    • Exact area and boundaries
    • Walls, openings and fixed elements
    • Levels, thresholds and transitions
    • Important directions and views

    The more precise the information, the better we can adapt the composition to your architecture.

  2. Plan the area

    Stoneart reviews the architecture and defines the framework for the complete floor composition.

    • Material, surface and Flagstone style
    • Room proportions and key directions
    • Connections, thresholds and focal points
    • Balance between larger and smaller stones

    The individual stone shapes are not drawn in advance. The detailed composition is created during production.

  3. Build the floor stone by stone

    Production begins at one defined edge or corner. The first stone is selected, positioned and shaped. Each following stone is then chosen and shaped in relation to the stones already in place.

    The floor grows naturally, stone by stone, until the complete area has been created.

  4. Number, mark and pack

    When the last stone is shaped and fitted, the complete floor composition is checked and documented.

    • Every stone is numbered
    • The complete floor is photographed
    • An installation plan is prepared
    • The stones are packed in installation order
    • The shipment is secured for transport

    Accurate documentation and numbering ensure the floor can be recreated on site exactly as created.

  5. Install on site

    The installer follows the numbering, documentation and installation plan. Every stone carries a number and marked lines that show its exact position and how it meets the stones around it. The floor is not redesigned on site. The composition created by Norwegian slate is recreated in the project, stone by stone.

    No cutting or adjustment is needed on site. Every stone already has its place.
