Pack & Mark

The completed flagstone surface is carefully transferred from the production floor to specially designed transport crates. The stones are packed in numbered sequence, the crates are clearly marked, and the required documentation accompanies the delivery. From the first stone placed in the crate to the final loading of the container, the process is designed to protect the stone and simplify the work at the project site.

Every stone is packed in sequence, clearly marked and prepared for safe transport directly to the project site.

  1. Protected against breakage

    The flagstones are packed upright in specially designed timber crates. This prevents the stones from carrying the weight of other stones stacked above them, reducing the risk of breakage during handling and transport. The stones are placed in the crate according to their numbered sequence, ready to be unpacked in the correct order at the project site.

    Heat-treated timber — The timber used for international shipments is heat-treated and marked in accordance with ISPM 15 requirements.

  2. Each crate is easy to identify

    Each crate is clearly marked on the outside so that it can be identified before it is opened. The marking connects the crate to the project and identifies the numbered stones packed inside. For larger projects, this makes it possible to unload, store and open the crates in the correct sequence.

  3. Everything needed to start the installation

    The documentation for the complete delivery is packed securely in crate number 1. It provides an overview of the shipment and connects each crate and numbered stone to its correct position in the project. The installer can therefore begin with the correct crate and follow the planned installation sequence.

  4. Protected, secured and ready to ship

    Once packing is complete, the crate is closed, secured and protected against moisture. The crate number and project information remain clearly visible on the outside. Before dispatch, the packing, marking and documentation are checked against the delivery plan. The crates are now ready for collection and container loading.

  5. Loaded by Stoneart in Larvik

    The crates are loaded into the shipping container by Stoneart at our premises in Larvik, next to the Port of Larvik container terminal. This gives us control over the loading sequence, weight distribution and final securing of the crates inside the container. Once loaded and sealed, the container is transported through the port and shipped directly to the recipient. The short distance to the terminal and the limited number of handling stages help minimise the risk of damage during transport.

    Our premises are located approximately 500 metres from the container terminal at the Port of Larvik.

  6. Ready for delivery

    Every stone has been packed in sequence. Every crate has been clearly marked. The documentation is included in crate number 1. The container is loaded and secured by Stoneart. The completed Norwegian Flagstone surface is now ready to travel directly to the project site.
