  • What information do you need to plan my project?

    We need the project location, intended use and approximate dimensions of each area. Drawings, plans, photographs and renderings help us understand the architecture, levels, transitions and surrounding materials. The more accurate the information, the more precisely we can prepare the flagstone.

  • Can one project include several different areas?

    Yes. A project can be divided into separate areas, such as a terrace, pool surround, entrance or interior floor. Each area can have its own slate type, surface, thickness, edge finish and installation requirements, while still being planned as one coherent project.

  • How accurate must the measurements be?

    The required accuracy depends on how closely the flagstone must follow walls, steps, borders and other fixed elements. For fully customised projects, the final measurements must reflect the actual built surface–not only the original architectural drawings.

  • When should the final measurements be taken?

    Final measurements should normally be taken when the supporting structure, levels, borders and fixed elements are complete. Measuring too early may lead to differences between the production drawings and the finished construction.

  • Can I choose the joint width and pattern?

    Yes. Joint width and the character of the pattern are agreed during planning. Norwegian Flagstone is typically created with narrow joints, subtle lines and a balanced variation in slab size and shape.

  • Can the flagstone be adapted to steps, edges and transitions?

    Yes. Steps, borders, drains, walls, doors and transitions to other materials can be incorporated into the production drawings. These details should be identified as early as possible.

  • How do I choose the right slate, surface and thickness?

    The choice depends on the visual expression, intended use, installation method and local conditions. We assess these factors together and recommend a specification suited to the project.

  • What do I approve before production starts?

    You approve a project summary describing the areas, dimensions, material, surface, thickness, edge finish and relevant details. For customised projects, you will also approve the final production drawings before the stone is prepared.
